"It is quiet - worringly so. The echo of my footsteps, however silent I try to be, resonates through cavernous rooms, bouncing off walls and along corridors. I want to speak, for my words to join the reverberation of my footsteps, just so I don't feel quite as alone. But I stop myself - in places such as these, it is better to remain silent."
